During my Ph.D. I contributed to the Open Agorà project leaded by TIM Joint Open Lab.

Its main objective is to develop a system aiming at:

  1. suggesting user mobility changes to decrease air pollution and improve user health conditions
  2. suggesting interventions to city institutions (about road conditions or other factors to reduce air pollution).
My personal contribution was related to:
  • the development of part of the Android version of the Niugo app
  • collaborate with Carmelo Migliore for the development of an IoT system to be installed on a bike to a) monitor the air pollution of the travelled paths, b) let end-users monitor the current position of their bike, c) in case of bike theft, warn the owner as soon as possible, and d) let institutions monitor the air quality of their cities.

We wrote an article that describes the IoT system for bicycles developed with Carmelo Migliore: it was accepted by the International Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering (IJECE) and will be published in the next months.
